Update #42

Don't Open Dead Inside

Survivors,

We had an exciting time at Gen Con showing off a factory preview copy of The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary! The copy was sent directly from the factory to our hotel in Indianapolis, so it was the first time we got to see the complete game ourselves. Those who were able to play the demo at Gen Con had great things to say about the gameplay and minis. For everyone else, here’s a first look at the factory preview copy.

This factory preview copy is a pre-production proof, essentially a rough draft before mass production. Though there were items that were sent to us as mock-ups earlier (such as the dice and rulebook), this copy was sent to us so we could get a clear visual of ALL the components in the base game box and make any final changes before mass production. We went through a vigorous proofing and approval process before this point, so the preview copy is just to double check that our edits made it through.

PRODUCTION UPDATE

This week, we’ll be receiving the pack-out copies from the factory of each of the tiered versions of the game, add-ons, and stretch goals. These copies are meant to ensure that all the components are accounted for and there isn’t anything too out of the ordinary in any of the configurations. (In our next update, we’ll show you the pack-out copies!)

When we give the green light, the factory can finish mass production. Currently, all the printed items (cards, player boards, map tiles, tokens, etc) are complete. The miniatures and boxes are being produced now. Next, assembly will begin. Once finished, the factory will ship off everything by boat to each of Shipwire’s hubs, where they’ll pick and pack each custom backer configuration, box them, and send them out to you.

Per the factory’s current schedule, Shipwire will receive all items by the end of October and then they’ll spend about a week processing. Backers can expect to begin receiving games approximately a week after that. If anything changes, we will let you know.

PLEDGE MANAGER ADDRESSES

Now that we’re close to getting games shipped out, we’d like to remind you to update your address if you need to. To make it easier, we will unlock the Pledge Manager temporarily so you can go in and manually edit your address. Once inventory sets sail, the Pledge Manager will be permanently locked and all addresses on file will be sent to Shipwire (meaning they CANNOT be changed). If you need us to resend you a link to your Pledge Manager account, don’t hesitate to let us know via email (kickstarter@cryptozoic.com) or Kickstarter message.

We’re looking forward to getting THE WALKING DEAD: NO SANCTUARY to you soon, so we can all work together to face Walkers and Rivals in all their (horrific) glory!

Until next time, keep surviving!
