Update #18

Final Print Sample Photos

Hi all!

It's been a while! Now is the period of long emails and longer waits for replies, as we push the envelope to try and improve the game in its final production stages, all whilst our manufacturers are swamped with pre-CNY rushes for production. To be honest, it sucks! We're trying our best, and the manufacturers despite everything are still committed to helping us, but it's a tricky time.

Nonetheless, we have some sexy samples to show off! Our sampling process wasn't without its issues - some materials were incorrect, some aspects of the lamination got lost in translation, and we might have to switch from 2 half-sized map boards to 1 full-size board to avoid bleed issues - but everything is otherwise awesome! The artwork looks crisp, colours are good, and the components all work as planned.

But don't let me tell you! Here are some photos:

Reference Board (Front) - The colours have come out great on this, but we're asking for it to be on a thicker board material to prevent bending!

Shadowmap (Reverse) - The lamination on this works really well with the pens!

What do you think? We'll be back soon with updates on our inlays (which are a pain!) and updated shipping dates as we move via the seat of our pants through Chinese New Year (when the entire country more or less shuts down for 2 weeks!)

Hoping all your respective 2018's are treating you well,

- Lewis & Team Braincrack
