Dear Backers

We regret to announce that we have decided to cancel this project.

We have received many comments and feedback though our Kickstarter page, Twitter and other SNS platforms and have made the difficult decision to cancel the project for now in order to improve it and relaunch better than ever. We are currently planning to relaunch the campaign in July.

We thank all the backers who supported us and hope we will see you in near future.

Update #4

Dragon Gyas: What Makes It Unique? Part 1

Start Here'€”the Game as a Whole

If you'€™ve seen the images on our campaign page, you'€™ll already know that Dragon Gyas is a game brimming with stunning figures and art.
But we know that the pictures alone might not tell you what kind of game it is, or whether it'€™s fun to play. So, we'€™re going to expand upon that visual impression in a 7-part update series.

So, with that, let'€™s dive right into '€œStart Here'€”the Game as a Whole'€!

To sum up the appeal of Dragon Gyas in one paragraph: You'€™ll be moving both large and small figures simultaneously on a single battlefield in two completely different ways. Your aim is to try and read your opponent'€™s moves and do massive damage with your large figure, while also moving the small figures in whatever way you choose to support it. This dual system has never been seen before in table top gaming, and makes for a truly unique experience.

More specifically, playing the giant mech/dragon in combination with the Knights/Dragonewts means that players experience the teamwork between the mighty, yet tough-to-operate figures, and figures that make up for a lack of power by significantly contributing to victory when utilized in clever harmony.

This fusion draws you into an environment that has you deeply connecting with how your Knights can protect your giant mech, or how your Dragonewts protect your giant dragon. With this devotion of the Knights or Dragonewts on your side, dealing massive damage to your opponent'€™s giant mech or dragon will allow you to discover a thrill that'€™s hard to find elsewhere.

When making a game, or even playing one, many of us wonder whether the game'€™s theme or system came first. However, with Dragon Gyas, the system is so fully intertwined with the theme that you'€™ll be completely immersed in the epic battle'€”the Witch'€™s desperation as she takes her giant mech to war with the equally desperate Dragons, and the spirits of the Knights that put their lives on the line to protect her. That immersion is what we believe gives Dragon Gyas its biggest appeal. It might sound abstract, but it truly is an undeniable factor.

So what kind of immersive game experience have we created with our system, and how does the theme tie in? Find out the exact details in the upcoming updates!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of the People of Njargrængardr

So long as humans have lived in Njargrængardr, they have lived in fear of dragons.

If the city walls fail, centuries of human history and achievement will crumble to ash under the dragons' onslaught. And so, the sole focus of these cities' design is to ensure that never happens. There are several hundred urban areas, organized into satellite cities, and the Empire which rules over them all'€”the Imperial Capital.
Each city is a fortress built to withstand the dragons' fierce attacks. The walls protect against the claws of the Dragonewts, but are as paper before the Grandragon. The powerful weapons of the ancients'€”cannons of light which were said to be able to blind the moon itself'€”have lain silent for untold years now.
The cities are ruled by the Elder Council, made up of Knights that survived the last Dragon War. The followers of the religion of this world worship no gods, but trace the boundary between life and death, seeking enlightenment in impermanence. They seek no gods, for they need not seek that which is before their eyes. The Witches, gods exist in the flesh.

However, the Witches are not merely objects of reverence. They are priestesses...and sacrificial lambs. So the people have existed, unassuming, for hundreds of years'€”on the knife'€™s edge between Imperial Rule and their Church.
