Terrain vs. Scenery

I'm getting into the organization of some items on the site using the Faction section as Dan suggested. However, it seems to be rather haphazard in the terrain vs. scenery allocation. So, I'm wondering what people are using to distinguish the difference between these two items.

For example, I've seen large Warhammer 40k terrain sets labelled as scenery in the faction section, and I really think that should be terrain.

To make matters worse the gaming community calles other stuff Scatter Terrain, like the Objective sets that you can buy. So...are these scenery or terrain?

Or... should this stuff just be merged and just have terrain?

In my opinion, terrain and scenery are very different.

I would say that terrain are houses, parts of the landscape, buildings, and even mats and maps.

But the Scenery is small parts for the design of the landscape, vignettes, scenes and other things.

But somewhere in the middle of the sizes they begin to intersect) This is where we can start to doubt and get confused. A lot of trees on the hill are terrane. A few trees without a hill are almost a scenery.

Objectives like this - is more scenery, then terrain.

Then it's a terrain and scenery in one set - better to mark it terrain, i think.

These are my thoughts.

I agree, I just wanted to check what we were using as conventions for these two things.

I just love terrain, so I tend to buy a lot of it, so I wanted to make sure my new stuff that was missing from the site is sorted correctly

This is very useful, thank you!
If anyone doubts the choice, put both options and you will not make a mistake)
