WIRE WRAITHS
Across the dead flats, the old power lines still stand — crooked, rusted monuments to a world that once hummed with electricity. The Wire Wraiths have made them their kingdom.
Part raiders, part scavengers, part feral sentries, they move along abandoned transmission routes and telegraph lines, using the poles as watchtowers, trail markers, and hunting perches. Their armor is stitched together from industrial scrap, cable, insulators, and whatever they can strip from the ruins. Travelers rarely see the whole pack at once. Usually, the first sign is a silhouette high on the horizon.
By then, the Wraiths have already seen you.
SCOUT (Perched on a hex)
The highest perch belongs to the Scout.
Lashed to the remains of an old utility pole, he spends hours motionless above the wasteland, watching roads, dust trails, and distant movement. His elevated position lets him spot travelers long before they ever realize they are being watched.
When the Scout moves, the rest of the Wire Wraiths know something is coming.
SWITCH RAT (Perched on a hex)
Switch Rats haunt the lower poles and broken junctions of the old grid.
Small, quick, and unnervingly comfortable among tangled wire and shattered insulators, they scramble through the remains of electrical infrastructure like vermin. They serve as lookouts, scavengers, and ambushers — disappearing behind a pole one moment and dropping into the fight the next.
If the Scout sees you coming, the Switch Rat is usually the first one you meet.
WARRIOR
The Warrior is what comes down from the wires.
Built for close combat and wrapped in scavenged armor, he carries the crude, heavy tools of the wasteland as weapons. Warriors advance while the rest of the pack watches from above, driving trespassers away from Wire Wraith territory — or toward whatever trap has already been prepared.
They don't move quickly.
They don't need to.
