The Alba vs Orange Command Group includes both antagonist personalites, the Grand Duke of Alba and The Prince of Orange-Nassau, an Ensign flag bearer and and a Sword and bucker for late 16th-century (1568-1609 period from the start of the 80 Years War to the 12 years truce).
The Iron Duke design is based in the Grand Duke of Alba, governor of the Low Countries (1567-1573), also known in Netherlands and Belgium as the Iron Duke for his repressive actions, and considered one of the best generals of his time, commanding the mighty Spanish Tercios, and the Prince of Orange-Nassau was the leader of the resistance of the Low Countries which led to later independence and head of the Royal family of the Netherlands.
The italian dressing of the range was used by many Western European soldiers of the time, as Spaniards, Portuguese, Italian, English, French, Waloon or Dutch.
