“No shield. No mercy. No retreat. Their oath allows none of it.”
These are the Vowbound Berserkers—the cursed sons of the mountain clans, stripped of clan name and title, and sworn by rune and flame to die in battle for crimes that can never be forgiven.
Each warrior bears sacred rune-tattoos, seared into flesh by oath-priests the moment their exile begins. These runes burn hotter with every wound and battle cry, drawing the bearer ever closer to death—and redemption.
They charge into battle with twin axes, great runeblades, or stone-chained hammers, wearing only fragments of ancestral armor. There are no shields, no formations, no hesitation. Each berserker fights alone, but dies among brothers.
Though many fall quickly, they are never mourned. For in the creed of the Vowbound, death in battle is not an end—it is release.
