From the deep dark caves where the air is still and the walls whisper nonsense, the Wolves Riders of the Mad Sun come galloping out like a bad idea given legs. Each wolf is raised from a pup by two handlers—loud, squabbling fools who somehow manage to survive long enough to become a team. The wolves, surprisingly, are the clever ones in this arrangement, though they’ve long given up trying to fix their riders and just go along with the madness.
The bond between beast and rider runs deep. Raised together in the pitch-black dark, they trust each other in battle—even if one of the riders usually can’t count past three and insists the wolf’s name is “Bitey” no matter what. The other rider? Slightly more sensible, at least by comparison.
They don’t ride in formation or follow strategy. They charge. They yell. They poke things with sharp sticks and argue mid-gallop about whose turn it was to feed the wolf. Somehow, it works. The wolves dart and lunge with uncanny instinct, dragging their chaos-brained riders into glorious, growling mayhem.
They ride in the name of the Mad Sun, a blazing thing they claim watches over them from deep underground—though no one’s quite sure what it is. Maybe a real god. Maybe a shiny rock. Either way, they scream its name with joy and charge headlong into whatever stands in their way.
You’ll hear them before you see them—barking laughter, snapping jaws, and one of them probably shouting “I told you that wasn’t the enemy, that was a rock!” The Wolves Riders of the Mad Sun aren’t heroes. They’re not even normal. But they are coming, and they’ll bite, stab, and shout their way into legend whether the world wants them or not.
