Bilejest Pipers

Some pumpkins grow with an unnatural need for joy. These malformed growths, known as Bilejest Pipers, delight in noise, excess, and disruption. They revel in their own existence, producing as much sound as possible: wet piping, gurgling notes, and sloppish rhythms that echo across the battlefield.

They are universally despised by other pumpkin-kin. Their constant noise offends even creatures of rot and decay. Yet their presence has a disturbing effect on nearby Plaguebearers. The rhythm drives the hosts forward faster, their march turning into a furious advance, if only because the others are desperate to silence the Piper by plunging rusted blades and broken metal into its swollen body.

Bilejest Pipers usually carry corroded instruments fused to their flesh, pipes grown through bone and pumpkin rind alike. They do not play to inspire courage or fear, but to amuse themselves, spreading irritation, madness, and momentum in equal measure.
