*PRE-SUPPORTS COMING OVER THE WEEKEND*

Few names invoke such dread among planar scholars and demon-hunters as Zhal'Khar the Abyssal Wing and his twisted master, Durog Blackfyre.

Once a celestial lamassu guardian of ancient knowledge, Zhal’Khar was corrupted during the Demon War of the Fourth Age when a shard of the Abyss pierced his soul during a battle in the Burning Skies. Twisted into a massive, demonic version of his former self, his once-golden mane turned black and oily, and his divine breath became a storm of necrotic flame. His noble visage warped into something snarling and cruel — yet still bearing the cruel mockery of wisdom and pride.

It was Durog Blackfyre, a fallen dwarf warlock of the Forge God, who completed Zhal'Khar’s descent. Durog had long sought forbidden power to avenge the death of his clan in the Underdark, and when he found the lamassu bound in chains deep beneath the Shattered Spire, he did not free him — he offered a pact. Durog carved his name into the beast's infernal armor with obsidian runes, binding their destinies and twisting his arcane talents into something wholly unnatural. His signature spellcraft, Darkfyre, was born of the unholy union between dwarf and beast — a black flame that burned not flesh, but hope.

Together, they became a scourge across planes. Zhal’Khar’s wings blacken the sky as he descends upon warfields, with Durog perched atop him, casting fire that clings to souls like tar. Kingdoms that stood defiant for centuries have been razed in hours. It is said that entire orders of paladins have ridden to battle against them and vanished without a trace, their ashes whispering curses on the wind. In the Nine Hells, even devils speak Durog's name with caution — not out of reverence, but fear that his ambition might one day rival their own.

Yet rumors speak of a prophecy that Durog seeks to fulfill — one that would elevate him beyond mortal form and transform Zhal’Khar into the new mount of a reborn dark god. The pair are believed to be hunting an ancient relic called the Emberheart Crucible, hidden in a plane lost to the gods. Should they find it, the final forge of Darkfyre will be lit — and no wall of steel, spell, or stone will hold back the night they bring with them.
