The Navajo Nation, located in the Four Corners region (a Southwestern region of the United States of America where the states of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona meet), is the largest tribe of Native American people in the country.

Their story is similar to those of other tribes. They had problems with the Federal Government during the American Civil War and Indian Wars era, due to the government policy of containment and land usurpation. They were forced to go to reservations and accept a program of “civilization” aimed to integrate them into the European American culture.

Our bust portrays one member of this people during the early 20s, the traditional features of his culture, mixed with modern elements, created a really interesting visual contrast.
