In war‑torn hive‑cities, entire residential towers can be compressed into anonymous blocks like this—melted by orbital fire, then flash‑frozen mid‑collapse. The cube’s faces are half‑smooth, half‑jagged, where rebar, stone and shattered plasteel have fused into a single, stubborn mass of cover. Veterans call these chunks gravestones, because if you turn them over and listen closely, sometimes you can still hear the last echoes of alarms and elevator music trapped inside the rock.
