A crazy wizard. A cult of madmen. An institution at the brink of another reality, invaded by creatures that inhabit the body of an eldritch god. Arokhenes, the mad wizard, recruits a group of adventurers to help him find out what has become of his asylum, an institution for the mentally ill which serves as a cover for a huge laboratory at the service of the dangerous Cult of Madness. The building in the middle of the mountains is full of monsters and the inmates are missing, or worse. Is there really a breach between realities, as the wizard claims? Or is it just more nonsense, as most of what comes from the inmates of the Madhouse?
This is a dark-fantasy and horror 5e module set in the world of Izral and designed to be played by four to five characters of level 7. It serves as an interlude between other adventures and can easily be inserted into a bigger campaign. With small twitches, it can also be adapted to a lower or higher group level.
Adventures in the world of Izral are all fully compatible with the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons. A pdf document, maps and stat blocks are included for you and your friends to bring all the grimness and epic of Izral to the party, and each adventure is also associated with a high detail bundle of miniatures to bring the action to the table (for this adventure’s set, you can go to [link?]).
Overview of the adventure:
Part I: The Summoning
Where Arokhenes suddenly appears in front of the players and recruits them for a most urgent mission. They will be immediately teleported to the asylum in order to help him investigate what’s happened.
Part II: The Maddening
Where they learn what happened in the institution and fight the outworldly creatures that roam the building.
Part III: The Expelling
Where they try to close the gate between Izral and the twisted nightmare of the Creator.
