Maskbound spirited are among the most tortured beings in Valerna - hapless mortals who were tempted and lured into a fell court and now are trapped, caught in an escapable cycle of intense emotions so the Fell can feed on their dreams. A maskbound looks like a half-naked Humanoid, decked in bizarre and seemingly random trinkets or rags, and wearing a full-face mask representing the emotion they are permanently trapped in. For example, a maskbound tied to happy dreams will have a smiling mask, and a maskbound cursed with eternal nightmares will wear a mask of horror.
