Edward III of England, born November 13, 1312 at Windsor Castle and died June 21, 1377 at Sheen Palace, was King of England and Lord of Ireland from January 25, 1327 to his death.
He was also Duke of Aquitaine from September 10, 1325, before ceding this title to his eldest son, Edward, in 1362. He reigned during a pivotal period, in a Europe in economic and social crisis, which descended into war. Hundred Years and suffered the ravages of the Black Death.
