This vibrant wooden sculpture depicts Gopala Krishna in a classical flute-playing pose, standing gracefully on a blooming lotus pedestal. He is adorned with rich jewelry and flowing garments, framed by a highly ornate arch featuring nine peacocks, symbolizing beauty and divine allure. Below, the base is decorated with cows and mythical yali lions, reflecting Krishna's identity as the divine cowherd and protector.
Krishna as Gopala is the youthful, pastoral form of Vishnu, beloved in Vrindavan. The peacocks, lotus, and cows emphasize his harmony with nature, while his flute draws all beings into the bliss of devotion and divine play (lila).
