Description
Stegoceras validum was a small, herbivorous dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous period, around 75 million years ago, found in what is now North America.
It measured about 2 meters long and is best known for its thick, domed skull, which could be up to 7.5 cm thick.
This dome may have been used for head-butting in social or mating contests. Stegoceras had strong hind limbs, a long tail for balance, and short arms.
As a member of the pachycephalosaur family, it likely lived in herds and browsed on low vegetation.
