Description

Leptoceratops gracilis was a small, herbivorous ceratopsian dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous, around 68–66 million years ago in North America.

Unlike its larger, horned relatives such as Triceratops, Leptoceratops had a modest frill and lacked prominent horns, giving it a more streamlined appearance.

It measured about 2–3 meters in length and walked on all fours, though it may have been capable of bipedal movement when feeding.

Its strong jaws and specialized teeth were well-suited for chewing tough, fibrous plants.

Leptoceratops likely lived in herds, browsing low vegetation, and played an important role in its ecosystem as a small browser.
