Description
Podokesaurus holyokensis was a small, agile theropod dinosaur that lived during the Early Jurassic period, around 195 million years ago, in what is now Massachusetts, USA.
Measuring about one meter in length, it was lightweight and built for speed, with long legs and a slender tail that aided in balance while running.
Podokesaurus was likely a swift predator or insectivore, hunting small prey in a warm, riverine environment.
Discovered in 1910 by Mignon Talbot, the first woman to describe a dinosaur, it represents an important early member of the coelophysoid group, offering insights into the evolution of early carnivorous dinosaurs.
