The business of piracy and naval warfare generates many rewards for the victors and most seek the resources of the seized ships and their cargo, and there is no business more profitable than the slave trade. That is why some of the most ruthless pirate ships that make the Aeolian Islands their base of operations, decide to modify their ships to ensure there is enough room for their unfortunate victims.
The Doúlos is a type of hull that replaces their heavy bronze ram for a simple thick bean that help to stabilise the load of the ship while still offering some protection against collisions and frontal approaching manoeuvres. In exchange, the ship accommodates cargo holds among its slaved oarsmen. Often, these ships proudly display prized slaves on cages on or hanging over their decks for all to see and fear.
Designed by Dankai Miniatures, this set is optimised for UV resin printing and is supplied fully supported at 1/300 scale (6mm).
The Doúlos wargalley set includes the ship’s core hull with a fully decorated palisaded aftcastle, including a detachable roof canvas to make it easier to paint. A new design of railing for this ship and a strip of selected 6mm crew miniatures are included to decorate the deck. Finally, the ship comes with two Aeolian Raiders crew stand easy tokens, and a one Aeolian mainsail.
