1870's French Zouaves

First raised in Algeria in the 1830's, the French would continue to employee zouave units until 1962. Known for their exotic north african inspired uniform, zouaves regiments would eventually be used by many other nations.

The Battle of Sedan in the 3rd month of the Franco Prussian war would see most of the serving Zouave units of the time depleted. This set was made to represent those units at Sedan, and what could be cobbled together afterwards to reconstitute them.
