Historical Notes
The German military built nearly 1000 of the light armored reconnaissance vehicle Sk. Kfz. 222. The vehicle’s 80 kilometer per hour road top speed and 40 kilometer per hour cross country top speed made it a valuable compliment for panzer units that needed a reliable recon vehicle. It performed excellently in countries with good roads, like Western Europe, but struggled in the Eastern Front and North Africa because of its poor off-road performance.
Based on a typical heavy off-road truck, the Sk. Kfz. 222 was equipped with 5 to 8 mm of armor plate and a turret-mounted 20mm KwK 30 L/55 autocannon and a 7.92 mm machine gun. Though it would eventually be replaced by more rugged half-tracks for the recon role, it did impress the Soviet’s enough to inspire their own BA-64 armored car.

Историческая справка:

Серийное производство началось в 1937 году и продолжалось до февраля 1944 года, всего было выпущено 990 бронеавтомобилей этого типа. Sd.Kfz.222 использовались германскими войсками на всём протяжении Второй мировой войны, небольшое их количество было также продано другим странам.
 
Использование бронеавтомобиля в Art of Tactic:
В игре бронеавтомобиль неплохо сражается с лёгкими советскими танками. Примерно равен БТ-5, однако уступает ему в огневой мощи. Машина идеально подходит на роль как противотанкового, так и противопехотного оружия поддержки.
