Army of Zaporozhian Sich was the most outstanding one among cossacks hosts. Independent society of Sich during all its time of existence was the source of distemper, but at the same time it was a basis for popular movements both in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and in the Russian Empire. Nevertheless both Poland and Russia had been appreciated very much military efficiency of Zaporozhians and had been used them as a front line against Turkey.

Независимая вольница сечевиков всё время своего существования была источником смуты и одновременно с тем опорой для народного движения, как в Речи Посполитой, так и в Российской империи. Тем не менее и Польша, и Россия, высоко оценивая боеспособность запорожцев, использовали их как передовой рубеж против Турции.
