Warhammer 40,000 Epic Space Marines (2nd Edition) G2, Imperial Guard Army showcase!

For our weekend vid, we showcase the might of our Imperial Guard (Epic scale) army! While the Space Marines serve as the Elite arm, these form the bulk of the Armies of Humanity.

In the 2nd Edition, their strengths centered on infantry relying on quantity, backed up by heavy armor and artillery, thanks to iconic units such as the Leman Russ Main Battle Tank and the Basilisk Self-propelled Artillery Gun. Then there's the super heavy tanks and Knights, capable of laying down the hammer against any foe!

The Imperial Guard also possesses Rough Riders and Bikes, which come in large numbers. A coordinated charge by these can cause despair among enemy ranks.

Also of note, specialized infantry units such as the tough Ogrys and Rattling Snipers.

The Imperial Guard does have one weakness: it's Chain of Command. During battle, formations must stay within a certain distance from each other, for the purposes of allowing the flow of orders to go through. Disruption means troops won't be able to do battle effectively.

And while it's true the fast moving Rough Riders and Bikes can speed off agead of the rest, if broken while outside The Chain, they will rout with no chance of regrouping.

Imperial Commissars therefore, are of mayor value. These devout individuals' goal is to maintain order and strick discipline, enabling troops to maintain their aims even when cut off and in the most dire of circumstances.

On the whole however, the Imperial Guard lacks the mobility of other armies (Space Marines, Eldar) and thus, known to generally stay within their initial deployment zone, where they can bombard the enemy with their famed artillery from as far as possible. By the time things get up close and personal, what remains of the enemy would be overwhelmed by the quantity of the Imperial Guard!
