Heartbreaker was founded by Bob Watts [1] in 1991: previously he was a senior manager with Games Workshop in the US. Heartbreaker brought out several licensed ranges for IP such as Grendel's Leviathan, FASA's Earthdawn and Target Games' Mutant Chronicles. In 1997 Heartbreaker merged with Target Games, who later went bankrupt in 1999 and sold their miniatures division to Paradox Entertainment AB who licensed them to Excelsior. Some of the Heartbreaker ranges are now available from Ral Partha Europe.
