This set of models is part of the Space Pioneers Collection of 3D miniatures, which was first available on our Patreon channel in February 2021. Our Patreon creates different collections of sci-fi miniatures each month - https://www.patreon.com/printminis.
These alien species are all found on the exoplanet Aether, Planet 579a in the Milky Way Galaxy. It's 150 years in the future and space exploration is a commerical enterprise. Pioneer teams are sent out to habitable planets to conduct in person research of the natural resources, and to set up working settlements for colonists to arrive. Many planets are simply mined for profit and others are colonised - space is now big business. The planet Aether has rich biodiversity, an acceptable atmosphere for humans and slightly higher gravity than Earth.
Pugmander:
The Pugmander is a plentiful species. It is about the size of a cow, completely herbiverous and very docile. It can be seen grazing in small herds across the flat plains. It's hearing is not great but it has excellent eyesight for discerning the right vegetation to eat and spotting predators too.
Ornisaur:
The Ornisaur is an intelligent, bird-like creature that lives in the rockier areas, high up on the cliffs. It's an omnivore, eating plants, insects and small animals. It hunts living creatures from the air and can walk long distances grazing vegetation on it's strong bipedal legs. It's also able to run fast to escape larger pradators and deliver a powerful pick in self-defence. The Ornisaur mates for life, and so they are often found in male-female pairs. They nest once per year and raise their young until they leave the nest at the end of the year.
Neuromantis:
The planet Aether has rich biodiversity, an acceptable atmosphere for humans and slightly higher gravity than Earth. The Neuromantis is a highly intelligent creature with advanced hunting methods. To take down its prey, it can emit a frequency of soundwaves that disrupts animal brain patterns, therefore disorientating its target. Once in this confused stage, the Neuromantis can strike, grasping its prey in long boned fingers and injecting digestive enzymes into its body (much like the spiders from Earth). It's a very adaptable creature and is soon able to learn how to hunt the new prey source currently colonising its planet!
Sporaloba Tree:
The Sporaloba Tree is a unique specimen, reminding Earth scientists of a tree, a fungus and a coral. It has the trunk of a tree, drawing water and nutrients from the soil, but where leaves would normally be found are fleshy fan-like structures that pulse with life. The pods mixed among the 'leaves' release spore during the night for breeding, and the fans filter particles from the air just like coral do in the ocean. They even contain bacteria that live symbiotically with the 'leaf'. The Sporaloba Trees are an important habitat for many smaller creatures on Aether.
