Hellbender Museum

Super high detail models for 3D printing by Kieran

The Hellbender Museum collection is made by Kieran, a 3D sculptor from Brisbane, Australia.
Why the name?

Unusually for someone who lives in Australia (which has no salamanders), the Hellbender is one of my favourite animals. Given it’s such a cool name I figured it would work well as a company name; distinctive and easily remembered. The museum portion refers to the subject matter I tend to engage with: historical models and models of the natural world.
What’s with the subject matter?

I have found the secret to consisted output in my case is to restrict my models strictly to subjects I have an intense personal interest in. As much as I love fantasy and sci-fi, there is a hell of a lot of that out there already, so I decided to focus on my other areas of interest, which are less represented in the 3D printable models space; history and nature.

I’m not ruling out fantasy and sci-fi projects in the future, though.
How often do I release models?

Generally I release 1 historical model per month and 3-4 animal models. This of course depends on the complexity of the models. I get animal models out faster because I find they don’t require quite as much research as the historical models (which I generally read at least one book about per model to get things as historically accurate as I can).
