Fallout - Factions

Fallout: Factions is a two-player tactical miniatures game (skirmish wargame) set in the Fallout universe. Players take control of rival factions, battling each other for power and territory in a post-apocalyptic world.

The gameplay of Fallout: Factions is designed to be fast, accessible, and action-packed. Games are played on a compact 24x36-inch (approximately 61x91 cm) game board and typically last about 40 minutes if both players are familiar with the rules.

Key features of the game:

  • Campaign system The games are linked together in a single storyline. Player squads evolve from match to match: characters can learn new tricks, and the gang itself can expand its influence in the Wasteland.
  • Simple mechanics The basic mechanics are intuitive and focused on cinematic gameplay and strategic decisions.
  • Setting The Battle for Nuka-World starter set is dedicated to the struggle for control of the Nuka-World theme park, known from the Fallout 4 video game. Players lead raider gangs to capture territory from their rivals.
  • Miniatures The game uses 32 mm miniatures that are compatible with another game set in the same universe, Fallout: Wasteland Warfare.

What you need to play

To start playing, you need the 112-page hardcover core rulebook, as well as the Fallout: Factions - Battle for Nuka-World starter set or a set with tokens and terrain elements. The starter set contains everything you need for two players, including two sets of plastic miniatures, rules, dice, tokens, and terrain pieces.

Difference from Fallout: Wasteland Warfare

Although both games are published by Modiphius Entertainment and use miniatures of the same scale, they are two different systems.

Fallout: Wasteland Warfare offers a more detailed and immersive gaming experience that mimics the narrative of computer RPGs. This game supports single-player, cooperative, and PvE (player versus environment) modes.

Fallout: Factions is a newer game with its own engine and simplified mechanics. It is designed specifically for fast-paced and focused PvP (player versus player) battles, while retaining strategic depth.

Thanks to the common scale of the figures, players can use their miniature collections in both games.
