My name is Sebastian Archer. I am a sculptor from Sydney, Australia, and Veiled Lamp is my personal creative project.
All my sculpture is done traditionally by hand, using clay. I really love to work with my hands and I think there is a certain serendipity to working with clay: often the way a piece of cray cracks or moves under the tool creates an unintended natural shape, which brings an element of organic beauty to a sculpture.
All the resin reproductions of my work are cast delicately by hand right here in Australia, and packed carefully by me personally. A Veiled Lamp miniature is a fully hand-made, traditional and unique experience in a world becoming dominated by digital perfection.
