Description
Pachycephalosaurus wyomingensis is an extinct dinosaur species that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70-66 million years ago.
Fossils of this dinosaur have been discovered in Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota in the United States. Pachycephalosaurus wyomingensis was a large herbivorous dinosaur, measuring up to 20 feet long and weighing around 2 tons.
It is best known for its distinctive thickened dome-shaped skull, which could reach up to 10 inches in thickness. This thick skull was likely used for head-butting and display purposes during intraspecific combat or mating rituals.
Despite its robust skull, the rest of its body was relatively small and lightly built.
