Description
Chasmosaurus belli was a medium-sized ceratopsid dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 75–70 million years ago.
Measuring around 4.8–5.5 meters in length and weighing up to 2 tons, this herbivore lived in what is now western North America.
Its most striking feature was its large frill adorned with elongated openings, giving it a lightweight structure despite its size.
Unlike other ceratopsids, its horns were relatively short. Chasmosaurus likely used its frill for display, thermoregulation, or defense.
