Valiant Incorporated is a small family owned casting house that has been in business for almost 50 years. It was established in 1968, by Arthur Neckermann in the basement of his home. At that time, it was common to melt small quantities of lead on a kitchen stove and pour them into simple rudimentary rubber molds. The quality of those castings was very poor and lacking in sharp details. Utilizing techniques used in the jewelry industry, Arthur was able to vastly improve the overall quality of his own castings. In the early 1970's, Arthur formed a business partnership with Sheperd Paine, a talented young artist from Chicago. Their initial goal was to develop a line of 54mm Military Miniature Hobby Kits that would appeal to both beginners and connoisseurs of quality sculpture. Sheperd's burgeoning talents in sculpture, painting, model making coupled with the new casting technics allowed Valiant to become one of the premier casting operations in the world.
Valiant continues on under the guidance of Tim and Jeff Neckermann. No longer simply limited to just casting military miniatures for itself, Valiant is now primarily a contract caster for other companies. Valiant has had hundreds of clients over the years in a variety of industries including the Toy, Hobby, Gardening, Gift and Gaming industries. Valiant currently maintains a staff of fifteen highly trained mold makers and casters. Valiant also offers packaging, inventorying and fulfillment services. More recently, Valiant has been involved in over 80 different funded Kickstarters. If you have backed any miniatures Kickstarters in the last couple of years, it is very likely that you have already seen our work.
