As a kid my parents were in the forces, so I grew up on Army bases around Germany. As part of his role my Dad would have to run wargames, and I was drawn into the whole world of toy soldiers as a result from a very young age (20mm Ricoh models of Russian and NATO forces as I seem to recall!) When we came back to the UK, I was introduced to Dungeons & Dragons, and was hooked. Fantasy gaming became my main hobby, along with collecting and painting Grenadier Models Miniatures and some quirky imports from a strange company called Citadel something or other.... As you can imagine, Citadel Miniatures led inevitably to Game Workshop and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, which I played for years until I reached University (strangely the cool girls at College didn't dig playing Toy Soldiers,,!) When I graduated I started working in FS, but always keeping my love of history going in the background until one day, I decided to get back into gaming. But this time, it was back to my true love - Ancient History and the Hellenistic period especially. Agema was born out of my desire to bring my love of historical research into table top gaming and try and bring something new and different to the wargamer. This is my first attempt to do this via Kickstarter! I hope you like it.
