this has been a very difficult paint job cause i have nothing to go by ...but i figure i give you a look at my work so far

Eddie Inzauto reviews Eric M. Lang and Guillotine games' Blood Rage, published by CMON.

This combat-heavy area control game with card drafting, hidden objectives, and various upgrade paths is a special hybrid of Euro and Ameritrash that will have a special sort of appeal to a wide variety of gamers.

Designed for 2-4 players and lasting about 90 minutes, this super-fun game scales well with all player counts, but is best at a full 4. (There's a 5-player expansion, but we still prefer it at 4.)

It does serve up the opportunity for players to create game-breaking combos, but is self-balancing thanks to the combination of area control, card-drafting, and the battle system, which is excellent.

And let's not forget the minis. Wow.

An impromptu video done after work with no planning to setup.
At about 5 minutes into the vid, I added more light.
I know that a female god is called a goddess. Also, I made a mistake, Tyr is the sword wielding god, not Baldur.

The Viking figures are 32mm, but the Monsters can vary a lot:
- Troll: 50mm
- Sea Serpent: 75mm
- Frost Giant: 87mm
- Fire Giant: 93mm

This is a set of items for Blood Rage that were only available during the Kickstarter campaign.
Among the exclusives there were four new monsters:
- Wolfman: figure and a card for Age 2 deck.
- Mystic Troll: miniature and a card for Age 3 deck.
- Mountain Giant: figure and card for Age 1 deck.
- Fenrir: figure and card for Age 1 deck.
In addition to the monsters, there were several upgraded components:
- Sculpted Clan Tokens: For each clan, tokens used to keep track of current Rage, and three stats: Rage, Axes, and Horns.
- Sculpted Sage Token: Keep track of your game's progress through the last Ages. Monolith engraved with Viking runes
- Sculpted Doom Token: This is used to mark the province that will be destroyed next by Ragnarök.
- Sculpted First Player Token: With this token, who's supposed to start the round. A hand holding an axe up high.
- Wild Boar Clan: with the standard game components and the sculpted clan tokens, and Mystic figures.

Fifth player expansion ~ three alternate-sculpt monsters, each with their own (5+ player) card, and sculpted clan tokens for the extra faction (the Ram Clan).

Over the next few months, I'm going to be getting a bunch of games (and things) in the mail from Kickstarters (and things) I've backed. This is one of those. It's a not-so-little game called Blood Rage for 2-4 (or 5, if you have all the expansions I do) players about a bunch of Viking clans fighting it out during Ragnarok.
