LORE

In the early 42st millennium, deep within the forges of Harkog, Standard Template Constructs (STC) of tanks and war machines were discovered, designs whose power and weaponry far surpassed their age.
To test this technology without prematurely dooming the galaxy, a crusade was launched against the heretical worlds of the Zusul Sector. In time, however, for reasons of secrecy, all who had knowledge of the STCs were silenced, and the crusade itself was erased from history.
Yet Lord Commander von Schwarzkopf von XIII, Commissar Hans Schmulke, and the steadfast soldiers of the Imperial Guard regiments from the worlds of Zhrankel and Drankel did not forget their sacred mission, and stood ready to see it through to the bitter end.
In the sealed archives of the Inquisition, this campaign endured under a single name: Iron Kaput.

In the midst of the Iron Kaput crusade, the forges of Harkog spat forth another marvel of questionable ingenuity: the SP-25. It was conceived as a "heavy tank", a classification born more of hope than of strict engineering. It arrived as a sideways experiment, bulkier than its smaller brethren yet by no means the final word of the forgemasters.
Fitted with excessive plating, redundant rivets and a stubborn contempt for sensible design, the Kaputtchen served across the blasted wastes of the Zusul Sector as both siege engine and battlefield curiosity. To some it brought dread; to others wry laughter but to all it was unmistakably present.
In the sealed annals of the Inquisition the machine is recorded under a single designation: Kaputtchen Heavy Tank.
