The Coach On The Pitch

A soccer coach is a special type of coach. They enter the field of play to assume the role of a player, often with the intention of teaching the team a specific lesson or triggering a new tactic. In some cases, they may even be brought in as a player-manager to add an extra dimension to the team. The reasons a coach enters the field of play are varied, but generally fall into one of four categories: weakest player situations, smashing the head of the nearest player, breaking bones, or as a last resort, throwing to the referee.
