Fun! Flirty! Geeky! Sexy! Every ‘taku’s dream is a girl like P0MP0M! Born and raised on the Chrome Coast, she found herself immersed in the Coast’s superficial go-getter culture from a young age, with her father an exec of OzFarm Conglomerate and her mother a fashion model from Japan, she was raised in a world of plastic painted in chrome. She knew she would always be destined for a life embroiled in the Coast’s superficial glamour societies. Though rather than be another socialite in the making, she used her father’s position in OzFarm to get pushed at the front of everyone’s personalised algorithms on the OzNet, while she played with an image that was a mix between a Japanese idol and a Western e-girl. Doubling that, she used her mother’s connections to push her video content and products over in Japan as well, cornering their ‘taku market, plus the ever growing weeb market in Aus.

Starting off as a video game and music streamer on the OzNet, she quickly expanded to real-life streams where she would perform increasingly dangerous stunts aided by a surge of Cybernetics through her body, pushing her far beyond human limits. She turned into an overnight sensation after one of her parkour streams saw a pair of LED-heads try to kidnap her to take her cybernetics. Something in P0MP0M snapped; there was no choice of flight, only fight. Live on stream in front of tens of thousands, she plunged her fist straight through one of their throats, tearing out his cyberspine and using it to throttle the other one to death. Clips of her tearing through the LED-heads flooded the ‘Net, her fans hailing her as some kind of cyberpunk avenger. But behind the flattering filters, something in Keiko had cracked wide open. The girl who used to giggle at anime memes was now the girl haunted by nightmares of her own hands butchering her attackers. Yet turmoil stirred in her, for it was those brutal killings which were now skyrocketing her career, and she was quickly becoming an international star.

When ePower Enterprises came knocking with their "immortalise yourself as an AI assistant" pitch, Keiko knew it was shady. The corporate world was nothing but a meat grinder, but how do you turn down becoming the voice in every lonely otaku’s smart home? She let them scan her brain—what’s a little invasion of privacy when you’ve already sold your soul to the Net? The scans were quick and harmless, so they said and the product line became a massive success. Every lonely male on the planet wanted to have P0MP0M reminding them to shower and brush their teeth, watch TV with them and cheer them on when they played games. But for Keiko, cracks began to show soon after, like glitches in her memory, whole days missing, or were they removed?

Now, it’s like her whole psyche is being torn apart from within, as Keiko’s mind falls into deeper despair, and P0MP0M’s personality as a cute idol e-girl is being replaced by something feral, primal and deadly. The lines between reality and delusion are beginning to blur every day as she regularly falls into a dissociative rage. In these hours she begins systematically hunting down LED-Heads across the Chrome Coast, though her ability to distinguish the gang from anyone wearing an LED visor is poor, and she has streamed herself murdering innocents on multiple occasions. She now has an APB out for her arrest, and though her main streaming channels have been banned, she’s begun streaming on the OzNet’s unmoderated nodes, and those with the knowhow tune in, cap the videos and post them on the main Net for all to see. Some think all the fame finally got to her, while a few others believe something more sinister is afoot, with either her cybernetics being spiked or cyberpsychosis taking over her mind.

Knowing that P0MP0M’s lost the plot, the LED-Heads have laid out some delicious bait for the mindbroken vigilante, knowing she won’t be able to resist or have the mental capacity to even wonder if it’s a trap. Should she go there alone, she is sure to perish. Knowing her daughter was circling the drain, Keiko’s mother turned to an old friend, Taiichi, one of the few on the Chrome Coast who could maybe save her. Keiko had been chipped since childhood, an OzFarm parental monitor meant to keep her safe, and now her mother’s using it for one last desperate call. She pleads with Taiichi to send his crew, not to just rescue her daughter, but to capture her if it comes to that. P0MP0M’s on the brink, and if she walks into the LED-head’s trap, she won’t be coming back. But even then, Keiko’s mother knows saving her child won’t mean bringing her back to who she once was.
