Adrian, The Itherian Bard
The inns and taverns across the city of Bastion know Adrian as a talented lute players and a stalwart adventurer. Late evenings at the tavern may leave him groggy and tired when he starts his adventuring day, but that doesn't hold him back from helping those in need. So depending on the hour, he may come across as a bit aloof or in contrast he can be quite outgoing.

Once late afternoon or evening rolls around, Adrian can finally get into his groove. It doesn't matter if it's a tavern full of patrons or a hideout full of criminals, he controls the room. After years of serving the vampire aristocracy of Itheria, he learned a few tricks and he knows the power one has when they command a room with their presence.

It doesn't matter if you're from the state of Itheria or even Kaedrim, the vampires control everything. Taking the risk of being an adventurer is usually the only way someone breaks free from vampiric hold over someones life in Ormenvahl. Which is a life that can end far too soon if you're not skilled or at least cautious - so most don't go down this route.
Adrian worked his way up as a talented musician, eventually made his way to Bastion through his vampiric overlords and hasn't returned. He earned recognition and wears his prestigious emblem on his coat wherever he goes. With his fame and the laws of Bastion, dragging him back to Ormenvahl would be a political nightmare.

A cool ocean breeze pushes the cold rain in the open window of Adrian's room at The Silvered Flagon. The room is in a bit of mess and it looks like he simply walked in, threw his coat to the side and collapsed onto the bed.
Still fast asleep he fails to hear the loud footsteps approaching the door. A few loud knocks against the door served more as a warning than anything else.

The door swings open as it seems Adrian failed to lock the door after the show.

"Wake up, we've got company." Caithe commands as she kicks the corner of the bed frame jolting Adrian out of a deep sleep. In a panic he reaches for his lute and quickly relaxes realizing who it is.

"You could've at least knocked... or waited a few hours." Adrian replies as he gets up from his bed and throws his coat over he shoulders.

"I did and I said we've got company, they found us."

"Already? At least let me grab a coff- " Interrupted by the sound of several sets of footsteps rushing down the hall. Looking to Caithe "Run or fight?"

Caithe draws her Flamberge as she looks towards the door "I've never been one to ru-"

She hears the window creak open and looks to see Adrian in the window looking for a soft spot to land. "I thought about it for a long hard moment and you know what? I like this inn. Let's move the fight outside?" as he hops out the window.

A group of several masked cultists with blades in hand storm the door as Caithe leaps out the window behind Adrian. As she lands her roll onto the street two stories down she hears a strange echoing melody. Caithe looks over to Adrian as she gets up from her landing.

Adrian's eyes are glowing with arcane energy as he strums his lute. Notes magically echo and harmonize with each other. After a moment, strange magic surrounds his figure as he looks to Caithe "I think I've got this." as he points towards the window now filled with cultists ready to jump.

A beam of psionic energy shoots out from his fingers and hits the bottom of the window frame. The energy focuses into a bright bead then pulses outwards as the cultists grab their heads in agony.

One remains standing as the rest fall into the room or outside into the alley. The last cultist looks dazed as their head darts back and forth trying to assess the situation. They attempt to leap out the window and immediately lose their balance. The disoriented cultist falls two stories to the ground head first eliminating the immediate threat.

Adrian slings his lute over his should and dusts off his hands.

"Now with that being over let's grab that coffee, you're buy- Oh come on, more?" he blurts out. As another group of cultists stands at the end of alley.

Caithe draws her weapon as Adrian swings the lute back into his hands.

"Alright, Caithe. This group is yours."
