DESCRIPTION M3A3 Grant Mark II early/mid/late prod
The M3 Grant is based on the M3 Lee, from which the British requested a number of modifications, including a new radio-fitted turret. First used in combat in May 1942 during the Battle of Gazala. As the M3 engine, M3A1, was problematic because it was also used in aviation, a new engine was developed. It consists of two assembled bus engines. The M3A3 has a welded hull, not riveted like the other models.
