Indua’ne was raised as the youngest of five children within the caverns beneath Lo Fuin’s swamps. Though his village of Sildith did not delve into the dark depths of the Underground, it still held close ties with the Glanbelite Drow city of Hirika, which kept them safe from the fanatical cult of Irinax that had taken root within Iriksha, spreading to the other villages of Lo Fuin’s south. It was like this for many years, until a turbulent time when Hirika’s vision was forced to turn inwards, giving the Irinaxi time to ensnare the Drow of Sildith.
Indua’ne’s family was slow to embrace the visitors of Iriksha, and they were the first to be made an example of, fed to the cults arachnid pets they brought along with them “persuade non-believers.” Indua’ne barely escaped his death sentence, slipping through cracks in the cavernous pit he was tossed into as food, unable to bring his brothers, sisters or parents alongside him. For weeks he tread through the depths of the dangerous caverns, on the verge of death from starvation and hunger. Slowly his life began to dwindle away, and when he hope felt lose he beheld a pale blue light, shining through a skylight above a cavern, seemingly pointing his way forward to a small grotto hidden beneath an illusive wall, filled with water and edible fungi.
There he dined, and drank water plentifully, falling asleep soundly on a soft floor of moss. When he awoke, a blade was at his neck, and Glanbelite Rangers stood above him, questioning his presence in their hideaway. When he explained what had happened, the rangers brought him back to Hirika, giving him to the Temple of Glanbeli there, where he became one of many to be tutored in the ways of a Moonlight Ranger, with Kadna Glydrin the high priestess taking a particular interest in him. He joined her in many of her liberating campaigns, both of his home village, and of the many Dark Dwarves that had been forced into servitude by the Irinaxi Drow.
It’s on this occasion, as Indua’ne is tasked with escorting a large group of the Dark Dwarves to their kin in Dornat Al Karit that tragedy befalls him. Not only have the Dwarves rejected his request at refuge for their kin, but as he was in negotiations with them a cataclysmic earthquake tore the city asunder. Now he is pressed with a difficult task, to try mend the relationship with the two races as the city around them crumbles apart, though the Dwarves say the only way this might happen is through the Dark Dwarves working their way to freedom by aiding to rebuild their city.
