“By the standards of most sentient species the Nephilim are considered strange, even grotesque. Few are aware that Nephilim have standards of their own… and even to their diverse race, the Sentient Munition class are considered socially awkward, even wrong.
Created to be organic weapons with a single function, Munitions were meant to complete their task and perish, without the self-awareness to even be classed as casualties. They were the living ordinance of the Great War. To the shock of other Nephilim, more and more Munitions have been emerging from long hibernations and a century of feral beastliness, having developed minds of their own, even personalities and goals. What can a society do when their own weapons rise up and declare themselves to be people? Whatever the response - fear, acceptance, curiosity, hostility - these Sentient Munitions have taken their first steps into a strange galaxy, and are only slightly bothered by the fact that they were only designed to have short lives with explosive ends.
Gerilix; Initially created within the carapace of an ultra-dense torpedo egg, these Nephilim would be fired en masse into a compromised enemy spacecraft. The pods would then hatch into nimble, four-armed Nephilim warriors, their minds already pre-grafted with two key directives: destroy non-Nephilim and damage vital spacecraft components. These in-built technical skills have resulted in many sentient Gerilix Nephilim finding work as technicians; working to build, repair and maintain what they were once designed to destroy.”
