Walking among the gravestones in the Torbridge cemetery gives one a good impression of the history this town has seen. Quite a few of the graves are quite grand and expensive, but yet time and a lack of care has seen even the most important of gravestones teeter and crumble in a state of near total abandonment. Proud and important citizens of the ‘Cull were buried here with expensive and solemn funerals attended by the entire community. But now, very few even visit these graves, and many of the names inscribed on the stones have been worn away and the identities of those buried beneath lost to history.
