Initiated in the late 1970s, the Assault Suit project set out to build upon the experience gained during the end of Vietnam War. A joint project headed up between Japan and the United States looked to design a low-cost, lightweight air deployable alternative to the massive and extremely expensive A70 series.
Although the platform wouldnt have the full VTOL flight characteristics of the A70, the utilization of Jumpjet technology still allowed a highly sought after although limited flight capability.
Japan in particular was in need of a light weight, high speed, low cost platform due to their armor doctrine, budgetary constraints and low-capacity bridges. The weight savings were of particular importance in regards to crossing the many light bridges dotted across the land of the rising sun without having to waste precious jumpjet fuel.

The included .stl files have been extensively test printed, designed for 1/285 (6mm) scale wargaming and resin printers. All files are watertight, so can also be printed in filament. Easily up-scaled to 1/100 (15mm) by simply increasing the scale of the .stl files 230% in your chosen slicer.
All 6mm mecha stand roughly 35mm-50mm tall, depending if its a light, medium or heavy-class mech. Upscaling a medium-class 45mm tall mech to 15mm will give you a mecha standing roughly 100mm tall.
