Description
Miragaia longicollum is a stegosaurid dinosaur from the Late Jurassic of Portugal, notable for its exceptionally long neck.
With an estimated 17 vertebrae, its neck was unusually elongated compared to other stegosaurs, likely an adaptation for browsing higher vegetation.
Miragaia measured around 6–7 meters in length and displayed the characteristic back plates and tail spikes of its family.
Its discovery expanded the known diversity of European stegosaurs and challenged traditional views of their feeding habits.
