Bertagor, the Death Knight, was a terrifying figure—his towering form clad in ancient, blackened armor and his face obscured by a mask carved in the likeness of a grim skull. In his hands, he wielded a two-handed mace that radiated a dark aura, its massive spiked head leaving trails of smoke as it swung through the air. A soldier once of honor, Bertagor had been bound by a dark curse, doomed to serve as a reaper of souls for an eternal master. He roamed the battlefields at night, his silent footsteps sending chills down the spines of the bravest warriors. With every swing of his mace, shields splintered, and bones shattered, as if death itself walked beside him, eager to claim the fallen.
One fateful night, Bertagor was summoned to a secluded village that had long defied the powers he served. As he entered, the villagers trembled at the sight of his skeletal visage, his hollow eyes glowing faintly with an unearthly light. He moved through the village, his mace dragging across the ground, marking his path. A handful of defenders stepped forward, weapons drawn, but their courage crumbled as he approached, the weight of his dark presence crushing their spirits. With a single devastating swing, he shattered their defenses, his unyielding silence more terrifying than any war cry. When dawn broke, the village lay in eerie stillness, Bertagor's duty complete. Yet, somewhere deep within, a faint memory of honor flickered—a reminder of the knight he once was, now lost in the shadows of death.
