No one is sure what these Shadow Plane beasts originally looked like before they were surgically alter, breed, and train, giving them the name “chain hounds.” Some think the creatures’ faces were removed and grafted a fifth limb in its place, but stranger creatures have been noted to thrive on distant worlds and unusual planar environments.
