My name is Adriano Paoletti, I was born in Rome on 19 November 1990 and I attended the University of Physics La Sapienza in Rome. I come from a scientific background but my passion for the world of miniatures and fantasy in general has its roots in my interest in Norse mythology, something I had since primary schools. In middle school I became acquainted with the D&D universe and in high school with the Warhammer Fantasy and Tolkien universe. I was especially interested in the Dwarf race and cultivated my nascent passion through reading, drawing, role-playing games and video games. Since high school I enjoyed copying the artwork of fantasy illustrators such as Adrian Smith, Karl Kopinsky or Roberto Pavic and sometimes I would create my own character.
I read The Lord of the Rings and a few books of the Gotrek and Felix saga and then I learned by chance that there were independent sculptors who, inspired by the work of other artists such as Brom, Frank Frazzetta or Paul Bonner, sculpted miniatures like the ones I played but for the sole purpose of painting them and on a larger scale. I was attracted to this art and was interested in understanding its secrets. I painted my first 75 mm scale miniature at university and in time I came to win the most important award of my painting career, the Best of Standard at Monte San Savino 2023. The desire to produce miniatures to assemble and paint was therefore born parallel to my passion for painting them, and so Baobab Miniatures was born.
As future prospects, I would like to strengthen the company I founded and produce miniatures of extreme quality, which is why I try to collaborate with the best artists in the industry.
