My name is Carlo Borella and I am an Italian independent miniature sculptor, character designer and painter.
I would define the genre of miniatures I sculpt as "non-traditional fantasy" or fantasy with a twist.
I tend to focus on character facial expressions trying to convey complex emotions in my figurines. I also enjoy sculpting contrasting elements, juxtaposing the intimate and inner emotions of my characters with their raw and menacing appearances.
Another theme I like to explore in my work is the dream-like and surreal realm, also maintaining an element of classicism and aestheticism.
