From an idea by Darren Evans and written by Adam L. Dobbyns and Andy Hobday, Gangs of Rome is a tabletop skirmish game that places you—as the head of a rich and influential household—in the streets and piazzas of ancient Rome.
As a dominus or domina controlling a gang of ruthless fighters, you must use this gang to exert your influence over the denizens of Rome as you strive to ascend to the senate.
Your ascension will be punctuated with clashes with rival domini, with these clashes—played as either a single game known as a ‘scenario’ or as part of an ongoing campaign—fought on a tabletop battleground using miniatures, dice and other accessories. This battleground may feature the buildings and plebeians one would expect to see in an urban environment, or it may be a rural vista only populated with trees and bemused livestock.
Gangs of Rome is a historically inspired skirmish game from Footsore Miniatures & Games (formerly War Banner).
The miniatures for the game are sculpted by Steve Selah and Paul Hicks.
