Designed by an ancient space faring civilization that turned inwards on their evolution, sacrificing the notion of physical form for that of a digital one, the Automated Defense Turret is important to a digital society, these simple systems are robust and respond to myriad threats under its own judgement. Though controllable by those connected to the supporting infrastructure and knowledgeable in the proper interface protocols, they're quite alien and most useful as a source of advanced technology. If brought under control though, the powerful energy weaponry gives a considerable edge on the battlefield.
